Definition list creates clarity in the world of electric transport
Do you know the difference between a charging point and a charging station? Or what the abbreviations OCPI and OCPP stand for? RVO.nl introduces a brochure featuring these and other terms from the world of electric charging, arranged thematically. Entitled ‘Charging of electric vehicles - definitions and explanation’, this brochure was created in collaboration with ElaadNL and NKL.
The market surrounding the charging of electric vehicles and the technology and business surrounding electric transport are still very much in development. This is giving rise to all kinds of new terminology, including terms that many people will not be familiar with, with the associated risk of confusion. Unequivocal terminology helps to expedite necessary developments. It is also useful for new players who need to quickly get their bearings in the market.
EV terms arranged
All kinds of terms from the world of electric charging have been arranged thematically in the bilingual publication ‘Charging of electric vehicles - definitions and explanations’. The list is expected to promote clear communication on charging infrastructure. It was drawn up by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) in collaboration with ElaadNL, the knowledge and innovation centre in the field of smart charging infrastructure in the Netherlands and NKL, the Netherlands Knowledge Platform for Charging Infrastructure. This brochure is a first edition of this publication and is available in both Dutch and English. Regular updates will be released on the basis of feedback and advancing insight.
